Mike Jones
Mike is Head of Development at Mook. A global digital creative agency based in Covent Garden, London, UK. Over the years he has had the opportunity to produce high quality and innovative solutions for Adidas, Sony, IBM, PlayStation, BT, BBC, Macromedia, Hoffman La Roche, Novartis, RJ Reynolds, Shell, Diana Ross, The Beach Boys and Vanessa Mae to list a few.
Prior to joining Mook, Mike spent two years helping software start-up Global Datacenter Management, (GDCM) realize their vision in creating an Enterprise Rich Internet Application for managing and monetizing data center management systems. This wasn’t Mike’s first foray into RIA development though, as he had produced a Generator and Coldfusion solution for RJ Reynolds so they could streamline their brand management globally in 1998 based around a product known as iBook (not to be confused with the Apple product that appeared later on).
Some of you may remember some of his earlier work as one of the original members of Spooky and the Bandit. Mike also owns and runs FlashGen.Com which for quite a few years was the main focus point for Macromedia Generator information, articles and tutorials. Now he likes to spend his spare time developing Flash and Flex components as well as collaborating on RIA projects.
Mike celebrates his tenth anniversary as a Flash developer later on this year and plans to do a bit of ‘pond hopping’ to commemorate this event. He likes to drink beer - not in the ‘alcoholic’ sense, but in the ‘I’m a Brit, it’s what we do’. So if you find him in a bar and fancy a chat you can break the ice by buying him a drink…
