3D in Flash requires massive amounts of performance tuning in order to get a decent interactive experience. There are many different areas where optimisation can take place.
In his presentation Dennis will focus on optimising the loading of external 3D models. He will go through a complete workflow that starts with the creation of a 3D object in Blender and ends with the same 3D object displaying in the Flash Player. By going through this workflow he will show tools that help optimise the process and he will explore the different possibilities that 3D engines have to offer.

Hi,
I’m really burning to watch the videos you guys so kindly make available, but with the bandwidth (or lack thereof) we are getting in South Africa it just seems impossible to watch them. I don’t get more than a few blurbs at a time and if I let the video run through to the end in the background (which takes over 2 hours) it doesn’t seem to buffer and I can’t replay without starting the process from scratch. Is it not possible download the videos? – or some other way to watch them on a slow connection? I would really like to work through them!
Hopefully there’s a solution.
Regards,
Robin Lankes
