Eamonn started working freelance when he was 17 doing web design, consultancy and general IT work after his discovery of programming (specifically PHP), Linux and just generally tinkering around with things.
He went on to City University to study Computer Science where he grew a strong sense of responsibility whilst developing. There, he learnt Java, C++, Haskell, SQL, Prolog and more. He joined the British Computer Society and IEEE. Whilst at Uni he was lucky enough to be placed at NTMedia, a small (but very successful) Flash development company making gambling games. There he learnt Actionscript 2 and Flash, which became a passion and challenge.
NTMedia was consumed into a larger company where things didn’t seem to move. Eamonn then moved to Gamesys where he works now as a Flash Platform developer, writing gambling games for Jackpotjoy, Sunbingo and Botemania.
Eamonn is interested in code quality and architectural design. You can contact him through http://blog.eamonnfaherty.co.uk or through http://flashthings.co.uk.
