Optimising Visual Interfaces for the Human Brain (19:00 – 20:00)Rob Bateman
Computers have always used images as the primary way of communicating information to us. When two way communication is required, a visual interface is used – a collection of virtual icons and buttons on a screen that we can interact with. Today, ease of use is an important aspect of web design, and can make or break a website. This presentation concentrates on how understanding a few of the pre-programmed behaviours of our vision can help when tackling ease of use issues, and goes some way to explaining why some interfaces are considered ‘intuative’, and others just plain ‘annoying’.

Introduction to Flex 2.0 for Flash Developers (20:15 – 21:15)Tink
Flex 2.0 is still new to a lot of Flash developers who don’t know how to approach it and get started. If your one of these people then this is your chance to get to grips with Flex from the beginning.
From the starting point ‘What is Flex 2.0?”, we’ll progress to what I consider are some of the most important features, to get you up and running and building your own components and applications.
