Away3D and the Future of 3D in Flash (19:00 – 20:00) – Rob Bateman
Hear about the latest developments in Away3D from the lead developer and co-founder, including the most recent Flash 10 optimisations that take full advantage of the new features in the player. Rob showcases some of the interesting collaborations happening within the 3D Flash community, as well as some examples of practical use of Away3D in the wild. As a finale, there will be some sneaks of work in progress from inside the Away3D production team archives.

Constructive content in Away3D (20:15 – 21:15) – Jens C. Brynildsen
3D on the web is often just eye candy or fancy navigation. Powerful APIs like Away3D now allow you to create solid applications that really use that third dimension for something useful. Jens will show and deconstruct his pet project – a Skate Ramp Generator and maybe some more apps if time allows. Having spent a lot of his commercial and spare time on building Away3D applications and writing about it (http://www.flashmagazine.com/Tutorials/category/away3d/), this session is a good opportunity to ask those “how-to” and “can-it-be-done” questions about 3D in Flash.
