Efficient Programming Practices (19:00 – 20:00) – Mathieu Gosselin
In an ideal world without any deadlines, hot-blooded project managers and no picky stubborn designers we would all follow best practices and write clean re-useable code. Unfortunately we don’t live in an ideal world and as developers we often have the constraints of having limited time while we still need to provide a decent outcome.

This presentation will focus on techniques to improve both the speed and the quality (which we can summarize as efficiency) of our programming so you can have a life and more time with your friends, family, or with your Xbox, and still keep the client happy.
It will look at the balance between creating re-usable code, opposed to writing in a time limited environment focusing on the delivery of the the work, and how to adapt our coding to suit the project we are dealing with.

Flex 4 (20:15 – 21:15) – Tink
In this session we’ll take a look at the what’s new in Flex 4.

We’ll also take a look at how to build your own classes on top of the spark framework, including skins, layouts, containers and effects, with some practical examples of some code I’ve been working on.

Flash 3D Workflow (19:00 – 20:00) – Dennis Ippel
3D in Flash requires massive amounts of performance tuning in order to get a decent interactive experience. There are many different areas where optimisation can take place.

In his presentation Dennis will focus on optimising the loading of external 3D models. He will go through a complete workflow that starts with the creation of a 3D object in Blender and ends with the same 3D object displaying in the Flash Player. By going through this workflow he will show tools that help optimise the process and he will explore the different possibilities that 3D engines have to offer.

SEO and Flash (20:15 – 21:15) – Adam Chappell
SEO is an important tool in your website building arsenal, yet many developers are unsure how to optimise their Flash based sites.

In this session Adam Chappell will discuss some of the techniques for re-organising Flash sites for SEO as well as some of the potential pitfalls and considerations involved.
