Java provides the ability to ship embedded, admin-free, web servers and databases. Apollo provides, arguably, the easiest rich multimedia desktop technology to code to. Learn how you can leverage both technologies together with your web development experience, to create useful desktop experiences.
(Best) Practice Makes Perfect ( 20:15 - 21:15 ) - Agency Republic
We work in a field where every day there are a million decisions, from minor amends to major creative and structural changes made to your project at any one time. As creatives, conceptors, IAs, and developers, we constantly have to field a barrage of requests from clients, account handlers and project managers, that can often present major obstacles throughout a production cycle. It’s only by the practice of making (and learning from our) mistakes that we have been able to grow and evolve as a company and develop our product to the point where we have gained a good reputation for the innovative and aspirational work that we try (and do).
But with so much R&D happening on a daily basis, it makes accurate planning of an entire project a logistical nightmare. At Agency Republic we are trying to embrace those nightmares and turn them into production lessons we can all learn from. In creating opportunities from the challenges that we face through exploration/experimentation, we find we can produce some of the best work that we’ve ever done.
Sometimes its OK to not know how to do something.
Sometimes it makes for something much, much more interesting…
